The AIDS Resource Center was founded in 1985. It has grown into one of the largest AIDS Service Organizations in the region. It now provides Client Services, Clinical Trials, Wellness/Early Intervention, HIV Education, an HIV/AIDS Library, Insurance Assistance Program, Food Pantry, Hot Lunch Program, and a variety of services designed to empower and support those living with HIV. The AIDS Resource Center's purpose is to maintain the best possible life for people with AIDS and HIV infection by providing them with vital services; to reduce the spread of HIV infection by providing risk-reduction education; to reduce fear and discrimination directed towards people with HIV and AIDS; and to ensure support for its activities by coordination and collaboration with other agencies.
